even though we're too lazy, I mean busy, to put actual content on gregandgreg.com, we feel it would be a shame if we didn't at least share our vast knowledge of the web with our beloved friends:

web searching resources:

google.com currently the best search engine on the web. don't hestitiate to use their advanced search if the default settings aren't behaving the way you'd like.
hotbot.com started by wired, its still a good resource if google isn't givin' up the goods.
ask.com ask jeeves allows you to search for basic shit by asking your questions in a natural format. good for stuff you know is out there and should be easy to find, but is usually a pain in the ass to track down.

humor:

theonion.com far and away the funniest site on the web - satire and occasional randomness at its best.
somethingawful.com a site targeted at gamers, rich "lowtax" kyanka has a very witty take on video games and our current gaming culture. but even if you don't know the difference between a protoss arbiter and a rail gun, the Awful Link of the Day is always worth checking out, along with cliff yablonski's occational contribution.
suck.com solid cultural commentary site with a cynical feel. "filler" is a weekly piece that is funny as all god-damned hell. some absolute must read pieces:
people to never date
more people to never date
people to never date 2000
The filler archive can be found here.
redmeat.com max cannon's online version of his long-running fucked-up-in-the-head comic.
penny-arcade.com gamer-oriented comic led by gabe & crew.

music:

groovetech.com amazing site for hearing DJ sets from almost any sub-genre of techno. check the broadcast > search section to browse their archives.
naked-music.com san francisco's premier deep house record label. home of miguel 'migs'.
cddb.com cddb stands for cd database. use it to find out what tracks are on what albums, which artists have which albums, etc. completely searchable.

loved ones:

we should have never told our friends about the internet...

eSeth.com he's a valiant warrior in the war against proprietary standards, corporate abuse, and any operating systems that have more than a dozen or so users.
eJoshua.com he's a film student who takes bubble baths in candlelight. not that the gregs have ever done that. nope. send him some hate mail for lying about his friends' technical abilities so that he can score work.
